How we formed!

Well, the team started with Craig Curchin, Luke Tebbutt and Joe Standen (All mates at school). We came up with an idea to enter Robot Wars as we felt that it would offer us some fun and a good chance to learn some interesting stuff (mustn't forget the chance to mess around with the big machines!!!). We approached the headmaster of our school after coming to the decision that we would have to rely on the school to fund it. After talking to him he gave the go ahead and told us we had to find a teacher to support us. We gave it some thought and approached Mr Smith, after coming to the conclusion he was the best for the job. He said 'No Problem' and away we went. We started the search for parts. Joe broke the news that after Christmas (1999), he would be moving to New Zealand which was a real blow. We invited David Gostello would be very helpful as he could get hold of honeycomb (a lightweight material used for fighter jets) After a few weeks more, David Nelson was getting on our nerves so we had to bring it to an end. He got kicked out. So, the team was back to three. And that's how its been up until now, unless someone really gets on our nerves!!!

Having built doorstop over the summer of 2001, rather rushed and not 100% completed, we competed in series 5. In September 2001 we decided to plan for a new robot (Biothan) and started to design it. We started building in March 2002 and we steady progressed. When we got to June 2002 we had a lot of work to get done for series 6. We invited David Nelson to join the team again just to help get Biothan finished. We had Biothan fully build and ready to fight by the end of June 2002. We entered series 6 and were once again unsuccesful. But, the team has remained the same since.
